Two For The Road....

Poker Chips Big Slick Art Print by Michael GodardThe Boston Red Sox picked up last night right back where they left off on the last game on the road, a game in the loss column.  Who knows, maybe it's the inflight movies, or hotel food, whatever the case the Red Sox road show stinks on ice.  The Sox managed just four hits last night, and one run that they were lucky to get.  Aaron Harang must have been licking his chops when he saw he was facing the Sox in the Great American Ball Park.  Harang, the Reds ace, had posted a record of 2-9 before the boys of beantown had roled into town.  Last night , they made him look like a Cy Young winner, in six of the seven innings Harang pitched the Sox went in order 1-2-3.

Sox trip again

Justin Masterson recorded his first loss of the season last night.  Although, Masterson pitched very well, he had a few ill timed pitches that made the difference in the boxscore.  What difference it made is hard to tell, since the way the Sox were swinging the bats, two Reds runs were all that would have been needed to do the job against the Red Sox.  Masterson line last night was very impressive, seven innings, four hits, three runs, three walks, and nine strikeouts, again he did more than enough to the keep the lifeless Sox in the game.

Congrats to Sean Casey, he recorded his 1500 career hit last night, a blop hit to left in a ballpark he had spent more than half his baseball career.  Manny Rameriz's hit streak continued with an r.b.i. single last night, although he left with a barking hamstring.  J.D. Drew's hit streak ended last night, as he looked like his old self again, striking out badly three times, just short of the golden sombrero.
