HomeRun Derby......

Red Sox play offensively Four Red Sox batters today gave thier dad's a great Father's Day present, mamoth homeruns.  Coco Crisp, Jacoby Ellsbury, J.D. Drew, and Dustin Pedroia all homered today to pace the Sox to a 9-0 beat down of the Reds.  The highly touted Homer Baily looked like a kid out of place today, and he managed to go only 2.1 innings, while throwing 62 pitched in the process.  Baily gave up five of the 9 runs, and he took the loss for the Reds.

Josh Beckett was a little shakey in the early going, aided in the 1st inning by another Julio Luggo error.  However Beckett bent but did not break, he did not allow an earned run today.  Beckett's line today was seven innings, 98 pitches, six hits and two walks, and zero earned runs.  Beckett's outing today helped lower his e.r.a. to 3.87 runs a game for the season.  Beckett also had a perfect sac bunt in the game as well, as  he went 0-3 at the plate today with one strikeout.

For the Red Sox the series victory had to be a morale boost as well.  They have now won thier last two road series, and they did this one without Papi and Manny for most of the series.  The Sox also got a win from the five spot in the rotation as well. Since Papi has gone done with his wrist injury the Sox have posted an amazing 10-4 record.

The Sox now head back to the northeast corrider, where they will face the Phillies.  The Sox will send Bartolo Colon to the mound, and we will face Philles ace Cole Hammels.  The Phillies are 41-30 for the season, and they are in first place in the N.L. East.
