Home Boy............

Thanks to Kevin Youkilis, the Sox have a victory on the road, a rare feat. The Sox outplayed/outpitched/outhit the Reds, however they did not out-bullpen them, which is how they found themselves in an extra-inning affair. For the second time in a week Hideki Okajima looked way in over his head, and he and the Sox barely escaped the 8th inning with the lead. Okajima faced three batters in the 8th, allowing two to reach and one to score, and he had to bailed out by Manny Delcarmen of all people. You have thought the drama was all over with two out and two strrikes on Edwin Encarnacion, however Papelbon let one get away, and Encarnacion put over the fence.
Faced with an extra-inning game on the road you never like your chances, however the Sox took care of the Reds sooner versus later. Kevin Youkilis homecoming was made sweeter by 10th inning tater, and that was followed by a rare homerun by mighty might Coco Crisp. Craig Hansen looked like he was gonna sail thru the Reds line-up after getting the first two batters, but he added a little drama by allowing two Reds baserunners with two outs. Finally though the numbers went Hansen's way, and he got a long fly ball to land in the glove of J.D. Drew.
The blown save ruined what was another good outing by Tim Wakefield. Wakefield went seven innings, and held the Reds to four hits and two walks. He allowed two runs to score. Went he left he had a two run lead with two innings to go. It always seems like Wakefield is snake-bitten one way or another, either no run support or the bullpen bingo. Always seems odd that the guy(Papelbon) that blows the lead gets the win.
