Bonanza.....

[Bonanza Cast] Once again Bartolo Colon proved why he could be MLB's bargin bonanza.  After a rough start on Friday, Colon was back to his economical and overpowering ways.  Colon went six innings, throwing only 93 pitches to do so.  Colon was able to fan 7 O's batters, and only allowed five hits and a walk, and one run, a solo shot by Luke Scott.  On the otherside Garret Olson had a rough first inning, and gave up five runs.  He pitched very well unto the 6th inning, where he gave up a solo shot to Mike Lowell.  Jason Varitek had a three run homer of Olson in the 1st inning as well.

Bargain Colon again on money  Overall the offense was consistant last night.  The Sox had to grind it out, but did have 7 hits, and six walks.  Jacoby Ellsbury continued to pace the majors with his 29th steal in 32 chances, he also looks to be still shaking some of the  rust off his bat, though he did go 1-4, with a run scored last night.  Manny also continued his 15 game hit streak, his longest since 2006, which suprises me for a hitter of Manny's caliber.

In case you tuned in at some point, and saw the score was six to one, and then you see a Papelbon save in the boxscore, the reason for that would be Mike Timlin.  Timlin did record two outs in the nineth, but he also gave up two doubles. two runs and two singles, I guess two was his theme for the night.  Since Timlin has trouble with giving up homeruns, Francona decided to shut it down with all-world closer Jonathan Papelbon.  I know Timlin has got some big outs for the Sox in the past, however thats all it is, the past.  I can't help but think that there is someone in triple or double a ball that could use that roster spot.  However I guess every team needs a guy to mop it up.
