Brewers...Lite...
Well if the Brewers are the future of baseball, then the Red Sox are still the present. Despite the Red Sox best efforts to give away all three games, the Brewers would not be denied a loss in every game they played in Fenway. Yesterday Josh Beckett took the mound, in what looked to be a mismatch, however that was only on paper. For the second time in a week, Beckett was knocked around, only went six, and gave up six earned runs. Luckily the Brewers starting pitcher was no better, giving up 8 runs in four innings. Big Papi is starting to really heat up now, as he had four r.b.i's on two homeruns yesterday. Though the sweep was nice, it is what it is, a sweep of an average N.L. team. Even in 06, a year the Sox were denied entry into the playoffs, they went 16-1 against the National League.
From here the Sox get the Royals, who have played the Sox tough the last few years, so who knows. They are an American League club, that can hit bad pitching, so the have a chance. In this series the Sox will call up soon to be phenom Justin Masterson, and has been Bartolo Colon. At some point this year the Sox are going to need to find consistant starting pitching and middle relief. Maybe it will come via a trade, or maybe one of these stiffs will man up and actually hold runners when they come in, or at the very least, hold the lead.
