By now the American League has to realize that the Rays are a force to be reckoned with this year. They remind me of the 1969 Mets with their never say die attitude. It's a pleasure to watch them play. It's rare that they're out of a game. Every aspect of their game has improved greatly from last year with a few major signing moves & some additions by subtraction. They now have one of the best bullpens in the American league after years of being a doormat for the opposition in previous years. Another of their best moves was the signing of third baseman Ivan Longoria. He handles himself like a veteran ballplayer whether it be on offense or defense. I have written him in for the All Star Game because I feel that he is very deserving of the honor of representing the American League at third base this year I have witnessed a combination of timely hitting & clutch play at his third base position. This kid has all the potential in the world. They have signed a few of their young promising pitchers to long term contracts enabling the pitchers to be able to concentrate on their pitching & not have to worry about their status on the team. They know they'll be with the team for several years to come. All the players look as if they are having fun on the field and really look forward to winning. Go Rays!!!
