Done and Done......
Congrats to Yooouukk for winning the American League Gold Glove for first base. It seemed to be a no brainer that he would win. It also seemed like a no-brainer that Coco Crisp would win the Gold Glove for center as well, but alas Coco was robbed. Maybe he will fare better in the National League next year.
Big ups to the Red Sox brass for getting the Schilling deal done so fast. Schilling deserved to come back and finish out his career as a Red Sox on his terms. Like the warrior he is, he manned up and took an incentive laiden deal. Frankly I am not suprised that Schilling took that kind of deal. He backed up what so many players say and never do, he said he wanted to be back and he took a lesser deal. Another great day in the life of Red Sox Nation.

I agree that Coco should've won over Sizemore, and I would say that the voters go for better known players who are good offensive players but that doesn't explain why Lowell didn't win over Beltre. Lowell made fewer errors (in fewer chances), played more innings and had a slightly higher fielding pct. So there goes that theory.
