Baseball Biz......

The beauty of being a baseball fan is the season never ends.  Sure there are no games from December to January, but there sure is alot going on.  Just one week removed from the World Series parade, Theo and the gang have converged in Orlando, Fl, for the MLB GM's meetings, the prequel to the winter meetings.

With the free agent pool very shallow this year, it looks that most of the players changing teams will be done via the trade.  Rumors are flying that a list of teams have shown interest in the price friendly Coco Crisp.  My money is on Coco landing in the NL somewhere, there his great leather and light hitting bat will fit in nicely.

Another hot rumor has the Yankees putting Johnny Damon back in Sox, no not Red, White.  The New York Daily News has reported a swap for Joe Crede and Johnny D may be in the works.

Of course the real story of course will be centered around that self-centered a-hole A-Rod and Scott (Satan) Boras.  It will be interesting which meetings will be leaked to the media by Boras.  Theo Epstein has already said a meeting with Boras is on the docket this week.  Hey Theo, you got plenty of work to do, for instance getting Curt Wyatt Earp Schilling signed, and oh yea how bout inking the World Series to a deal.  I'm no fool, and neither is Red Sox Nation, we knew the Sox would kick the tires on this deal.  For whatever reason, the Sox brass have long been facinated by this self centered stats machine.  One thing I can say, is Red Sox Nation is not interested in another chapter of " As the A-Rod turns", we got enough of it last time.

I agree it's great that the season really never ends.

Coco seems built for the NL, but if the Twins are willing to deal one of their young arms you have to listen.

Arod would almost have to switch back to SS to play for the Sox; I don't think it's likely Lowell signs anywhere else...a Varitek type "no trade" would be needed, and maybe an easy guarantee for a third year (like 240 games the first two)...John Henry likes his good citizens.

Even without Arod I wonder if the Sox to a Renteria type deal with a team to get Lugo out of town. Odd signing.
